Conserving the Cotswolds AONB

The Cotswolds National Landscape is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, looked after by a small team working in partnership with a number of other organisations.

The team is an independent statutory body that works to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Cotswolds; to increase understanding and enjoyment of its special qualities; and to foster the social and economic well-being of local communities.

I’m very excited to have been invited to work with them, as part of their ever-evolving Rural Skills provision, from 2021 onwards.

Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust protects wildlife for the future. They connect and improve Gloucestershire’s wildlife and wild places.

I’m really pleased that over 2021, and into 2022, I’ve worked with GWT on various projects. These include ‘Nature Nurtures’ -which is aimed at creating a higher level of engagement between children and the outdoors - and ‘Return to the Hill’, a project encouraging more people, of all ages, to make more use of the wonderful site at Robinswood Hill, on the outskirts of Gloucester city centre.

The regional branch of CPRE, the Countryside Charity.

CPRE believe in countryside and green spaces that are accessible to all, rich in nature and playing a crucial role in responding to the climate emergency.

They are acting for the kind of countryside we all want: one with sustainable, healthy communities and available to more people than ever, including those who haven’t benefited before.

As a charity, they stand for a countryside that enriches all of our lives, regenerating our wellbeing, and that in turn we help regenerate, protect and celebrate. To really further this aim, we are working together on creating inspiring corporate events and other exciting projects.

Trevor’s work has a unique focus on contemporary home-grown lifestyle. Capturing authentic imagery of people and places, his subjects can often be found framed against the picture-postcard backdrop of the countryside or the graphic shape and texture of urban locations.

Using natural lighting and the ability to capture spontaneous and fleeting moments helps gives Trevor a strong aesthetic, that has appealed to clients such as: Lego, British Gas and the National Trust.

Personal work is also a key part of Trevor’s focus, always working on long term projects that involve his natural curiosity and wanderlust to meet people and explore new locations.

Trevor and I worked together on a photojournalism project looking at foraging in more urban environments. To see the results, click here.
