…up until recently there has been an ongoing,
and ever increasing dislocation from nature.
It can be seen everywhere…

I see foraging as one way of fixing that.

For me, foraging is a way of getting people to think about and develop a love for the wild food all around them in the outdoors, as well as helping to grow a greater appreciation and understanding of the natural world as a whole. I hope you will see and grow to understand different habitats, understand why certain plants grow there in preference to elsewhere, and start to see links and patterns in plants that are edible or usable in various other ways. Sometimes a walk may end up with you taking nothing physical home, but I would hope that you will return there with a greater knowledge and to be far better prepared for your next outing in the outdoors.

What others have to say about Rob

“Rob has a great attitude and he nurtures learning and understanding. His knowledge of nature and our countryside is amazing, and I learned so much in my time with him. He gave me an insight into an area that I thought I knew well already”

Les, public walk attendee

“His enthusiasm is contagious, and his knowledge about the natural world - and his willingness to research deeply into anything unknown he discovers - is astonishing. We cannot wait to work alongside him again in the future”

Will, Co-Owner of Toscana Holiday Village

Why Rob?

With over 20 years' foraging experience under his belt, Rob has a wealth of knowledge and a passion for the outdoors that goes far beyond what is simply edible, but also covers, amongst many other things: how to preserve your wild harvest; using the flavour profiles of wild foods in your kitchen, whether at home or in a professional setting; the natural history of the landscapes you will see; the folklore relating to many edible wild species.
